You get the exact same GROUP rights as root has. No more, no less.
This means that whatever root's GROUP rights are for a program, directory or
whatever, you would have the same.

It's not the same as being root. But it's a really bad idea. There's no good
reason to mix any user up with root. It breaks the whole idea of having a
root account in the first place.
