[SLUG] Proceedings of the Tampa Meeting

On the 12th of October, in the year 2004 of the Common Era, the Tampa
chapter of the Far-reaching Suncoast Linux User Group did meet at the
appointed place and appointed time, and much merriment was to be had
by all. That which follows this is an unofficial and innocuous
partial transcription of the goings on of the said meeting.

The first order of business was the election of the Viceroy
of the Tampa meetings. As has been discussed in this very List,
ex-Viceroy of the Tampa meetings, our very own President, Paul Foster,
desired to not be responsible for the Tampa meeting any longer.

Thus it was by unanimous vote by those present that Mario Lombardo
would assume the position ignoble position of Viceroy, or Meeting
Coordinator First Class, of the Tampa chapter of SLUG.
The other candidates being this author, Joey Dale, and a few others,
having the platform of enforced dress code of pink hats and something
about under pants,
did not secure a single vote or even serious consideration by the
essembled electorate.

It should be noted that even the other candidates favored Mario's
ascension. It would be further noted that it seemed Mario did not favor
his ascension, but the will of the people was obeyed.

There was much levity over the fact that Mario was late in even arriving
for the meeting, such comments were made to the affect of the meetings
starting very much later under the just rule of Mario.
Such scenarios are, of course, nonsense.

Many thanks were given to Wayne Pollock for orchestrating
the clever and just arrangments for which allowed SLUG to resume
meetings at the Hillsborough Community College, and a solid round of
applause was to be heard.

Near the close of the meeting, several members did come together and
suggest the gathering to head to a near by restuarant at which to eat
and converse and generally engage in friendly social interaction.
So Mario, Leonard, James, Angela, Gloria, Brianna (sp?),
Ian Blenke, and this author did decide upon Benigan's,
and so it was there that we did engage in merriment and food
consumption.

At this most informal and courtly meal, Mario did outline his plans to
rule with a loose and firm hand, never wavering in opinion or design,
crushing all those that oppose the will of Slugadonia.

As the said meal came to a close, it was discovered that chariot by
which Ian Blenke transports himself had a battery that had not a spark
of life within it. Being good-natured and just, our new Viceroy, along
with Leonard, did assist in the restoration of the battery.

It was by the Power of Leonard's Vehicle that such a feat was performed.
The battery had lost the ability to retain it's very essence of Life,
and so Mario had to rev the engine of Leonard's vehicle in order to
provide enough Power to allow Ian to start his Transportation.

Thus it was.

It is the opinion of this author that in the future, such proceedings
should be given on this very List concerning the goings-on at various
meetings, so that those that do not attend given meetings may gain insight into that
which occures.
