Not exactly Linux related, but may be of interest to some folks:

My local LUG, flux.org, in cooperation with a bunch of other local groups has
been able to get Steve Wozniak to speak. The location is just south of Ft.
Lauderdale so it's a leisurly drive for you folks. Hope to see you there if
you can make it.

Steve Wozniak Event!

Steve Wozniak is coming!!!

Since a group of volunteers worked hard on a press
release, it can convey the details...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 27, 2004

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer company and designer of the first
personal computer, will speak about his life and experiences during the
computer revolution at a public event at Nova Southeastern University on
Sunday, November 14. The name of the event: "Woz at the Shore".

Steve Wozniak designed the Apple I and II computers, and along with Steve Jobs
founded the Apple Computer orporation. He is the only person to ever design
both the hardware and software for a computer platform that became
commercially successful, and he is a strong advocate for using computers in
education. Mr. Wozniak was awarded the National Medal of Technology by
President Ronald Reagan in 1985, and is the recipient of numerous additional
honors.

Mr. Wozniak has graciously agreed to extend a South Florida trip to speak at
this event. Woz At the Shore takes place on Sunday November 14th from 4:30pm
to 7:00pm in the Carl DeSantis atrium and in the Miniaci Theater at Nova
Southeastern University's main campus.

This is a two-part event. The first part, which takes place in the Carl
DeSantis building atrium, is a table session and social hour with
refreshments. Tables will be staffed by members of all the technology user
groups in the region. These volunteer groups, run by both professional and
amateur computer users, are dedicated to various aspects of technology. They
offer educational opportunities, contacts within their various fields, and
even technical assistance. This event will allow the public to discover
technology groups they may not have known existed. The second part of the
event is Mr. Wozniak's talk, which will be held in the adjacent Miniaci
theater.

This event is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending is
requested to register at http://www.wozattheshore.org
