Now I'm realizing here lies the advantages or maybe drawbacks of
threads....since I have gotten so far behind on the list (2000 posts), I
turned the threading option on in Evolution so I could easily get rid of
groups of things that I did not care about like gmail accounts and
things that should be on the politics list.... I realized that I missed
the above guy's response cause it was not part of the original thread
and was several threads later. I thought I had read all the messages
pertaining to the topic before I responded with a new comment. I
usually read mail by arrival time in which case the thread would have
not followed anyway but now I can see why it might annoy some. But we
have to remember about new people coming to the list and be courteous
about issues like this. Nobody likes a jerk. I only press new when I
send a new topic because somebody commented politely about it and it
made sense. I would probably not have been on the list long or attended
a meeting way back when to learn more about linux if I had seen some of
the stuff I've seen lately. To me this list is a group of peers that
have a strong interest in this stuff as I do, and want to further their
knowledge as well as help others. If my view is wrong, then maybe I
should consider removing myself.

more than my 2 cents worth..... ;^)

this is probably second wave to most of you as it seems the bickering
has died off.....if so, sorry. I still have 247 messages to go so we'll
see...
