Has anybody else dealt with the 2.6.9 kernel yet?? I know they've gone
to a whole new development process with 2.6 due to the patch submission
process, and I also know that the latest and greatest sometimes breaks
things. This is nuts though!! Ian and I were talking about nfs caching
last Tampa meeting and I figured I'd check it out on 2.6.9. Also I had
a problem writing an audio CD the other day in k3b which seemed to be
resolved with a kernel upgrade from 2.6.5 also so away I went. made the
old config...yada yada yada...re-fired the box and boom!! My burner was
no longer recognized. So I got the latest and greatest non distro
sanctioned source k3b. Made the .spec file and the rpm and installed
it. Now the burner was recognized but cdrecord won't run suid
anymore!! according to cdrtools website 2.6.8 breaks suid
functionality. SuSE has started using subfs for the cdrom and I think
Windows partitions in 9.1. Of course, that's broken now too. Went to
the submount project page on sourceforge....got the source...and it
won't compile properly!! I'm scared to see what's next.....
