[SLUG] Music CD not recognized

Hello Sluggers,

Recently did a fresh install of SuSE 9.2 on my shiny new AMD__64
machine. Most things working well,(so far so good), except that my CD
Rom is not recognizing music CD's. Recognizes binaries just fine.

If I insert a CD a message comes up asking to open it in KsCD. Answer
yes. nothing happens. Then I open up XMMS and then the playlist. I
browse to /media/cdrecorder and/or cdrom and nothing comes up.
Music files on the hard disk play just fine.

Now, possibly the problem is that /media/cdrecorder is owned by root and
the group is root. Tried to -c chgrp and then chown for the device
from a console. Appears to have worked,but when I check on the
permissions they remain as root and root.

Following are the entries from my fstab" (sorry for the line wrap)

/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom subfs
fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0
/dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder subfs
fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0

Anybody have any ideas?

Bob S.
