Justin, we look forward to meeting you! In the time I've been with SLUG, I
can say from witness, we're a great bunch of helpful scholars, mentors, and
ordinary people. That is, if you don't understand something, just be polite
and ask, and most times, if we can't answer it verbally, people will flock to
you for assistance. Our locations gather monthly. Most of us have jobs in
the industry, yet we follow-up those long arduous days of work with two to
three hours of more Linux-speak (and sometimes a late dinner bonus too :).
Why? Because we love to help people and enjoy our craft, that's why. Linux
offers us more than an alternative OS. It offers us a direct link to
"free"dom. We're here to help release those imprisoned from choice and give
them the power to choose--even if Linux isn't for you. I feel you will have
some laughs, learn lots about a great OS, and hopefully make some friends at
our meetings. I know I already have many times over.
