Right shift for 8 (not 5, mea culpa) seconds:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panels -> Accessibility Options, "Keyboard"
tab, "Filter Keys" section: "... ignore brief or repeated keystrokes"
No shortcut for left shift, but VMware (in which W2K runs, bringing this
back to Linux) may play hijinx with the keyboard, as I can't see myself
leaning on the *right* shift...
