Hi Bryan and All

I appreciate the excellent presentation of exactly how these devices operate
which is technically superb.

Unfortunately I will have to take the blame for raising the question and how
the answer was presented, not the list of helpful people who ware dumming
down their knowledge to explain the technical issue.

The initial issue was that I needed to connect a computer to our office
wireless system. Sorry this system may be part of a WAN but there is NO LAN
nor firewall simply hubs. Something I do NOT agree with but it is not my
system. Anyway the point here is that the connection could not be any simpler
and still have a system - one access point one computer no interplay between
the computers. Well and good.

A visit to the old CompUSA and I found that they had "Wireless Routers" on
sale for $10.00 and $30.00 while 'Wireless Bridges' cost anywhere from $70.00
to $150.00 but they only had $150.00 versions. A visit to half a dozen other
stores either produced what is a 'Wireless Bridge' to "Don't have any" to "We
are out of stock." With little knowledge of the complet issue my first
question was"How do I convert a 'Wireless Router' to a 'Wireless Bridge'
since they are essentially the same product physically only with inverse
functions. That is what started the interchange you read.

Fortunately for me they were dumming the level of their presentation down to
my comprehension level.

Thanks
Frank
