[SLUG] Wireless problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite (1115-S123) and I'm using a Microsoft 802.11b
PCMCIA card (MN-520 - Prism2). From time to time the wireless will drop,
my wlan0 meter in gkrellm will show 0% signal and I'll get one of three
errors in /var/log/messages

Feb 7 11:53:43 slacker kernel: prism2sta_mlmerequest: Failed to read
wlan0 statistics: error=-61
Feb 7 11:54:14 slacker last message repeated 92 times
Feb 7 11:54:24 slacker last message repeated 31 times

When this happens sometimes I still have a connection, just none of my
tools installed (gnome wireless panel monitor, wlanmeter, or gkrellm
with wifi) can pull a signal. I get NA or 0%

Feb 9 00:24:19 slacker kernel: linkstatus=ASSOCFAIL (unhandled)
Feb 9 00:24:19 slacker kernel: p80211knetdev_hard_start_xmit: Tx
attempt prior to association, frame dropped.
Feb 9 00:24:28 slacker last message repeated 11 times

Or it hops back and forth:

setdefaultmib arguments are currently unsupported.
Feb 9 11:21:17 slacker kernel: linkstatus=ASSOCFAIL (unhandled)
Feb 9 11:21:19 slacker kernel: hfa384x_docmd_wait: hfa384x_cmd
timeout(1), reg=0xffff.
Feb 9 11:21:19 slacker kernel: hfa384x_cmd_access: Call to
hfa384x_docmd_wait failed (-110 294)
Feb 9 11:21:19 slacker kernel: prism2sta_mlmerequest: Failed to read
wlan0 statistics: error=-110
Feb 9 11:21:19 slacker kernel: hfa384x_docmd_wait: hfa384x_cmd

Feb 9 11:21:19 slacker kernel: hfa384x_cmd_access: Call to
hfa384x_docmd_wait failed (-110 55117)

Does anyone have an idea of what is going on? It's a real pain in a rear
to always have to either restart wlan0 or unplug/replug in the router (I
have two different 802.11b WAPs - happens with both)
