Ask Warren why Warren does things -- although the real answer is that
he's a programmer and basically rotten at marketing-type thinking. :)

He's *finally* getting some badly-need marketing and customer relations
help. I guess the redone Web site is the first public indication...

I believe his plan for "MEPIS Pro" is to have SimplyMEPIS + additional
CDs, essentially making a modular distro. I don't know what his
anticipated timing is, though. He has told me he's getting tons of
registrations on SimplyMEPIS and lots of feature requests for it from
many people, while only a few communications from those who want the
"advanced" version, and that hardly any of those come from people who
have registered or subscribed (i.e. coughed up money) , so he's unsure
how much money/time he should invest in the pro version compared to the
"newbie" version that's selling well.

Both Milad (mutual friend; Hopkins business professor) and I have told
Warren he should move here and hire Matt Moen or someone like him to
help with scripting and such, and spend some time *not working* but
instead get out now and then, go to the beach, hit the bars, whatever.

A thought: If instead of saying, "Warren, you ought to do X," someone
said, "Warren, I can *help* you do X, and I'll do it free or for a low
price because I know you're not exactly getting rich yet," his reaction
might be interesting...
