QtParted might work -- try searching freshmeat.net for "system rescue CD",
which is a live-CD that you can boot into to mess with partitions with QtParted.

That might not be the best option, however. It might be better to just
format the partition and mount it. For example, you could make it
/home/, or /usr/.
That might actually be the easier thing to do, and it's certainly safer.
