Hi Bob

You need the Macromedia Flash Player. It is not open source, but it is
free. You can visit the Firefox web site and you'll see it listed on the
"Plug-Ins" list. After you install the plug-in, shut down Firefox and
restart it. It should be operational.

The ".swf" extension refers to an older format - Shockwave file. It was
replaced by Flash (much better), but kept the same extension.

Subject: [SLUG] Firefox

Hello Sluggers,

Running the latest Firefox on SuSE 9.2 on a 64 bit AMD.

Occasionally I will visit a website with the .swf ending. eg: one like
this http://members.cox.net/ladysarakat/piggy.swf It should be
"interactive" Clicking on an image or a checkbox should activate it.
Nothiing happens. At first I thought maybe just a broken link or something,
but it consistently fails.

Something to do with my Firefox ? Plug-in or something?

Bob S.
