The rpm for Audacity in SuSE ships with 283 effect processors like
phasers and compressors and reverb, 43 additional plugins, normalize
with preview and equalization with a curve editor and preview. It
should do all that you want and more. If you're looking to do
multi-track mixing, I've been playing with Ardour and it's sweet.
Although you need to become familiar with jack audio tools.
