Paddy,

It sounds like a desktop replacement, not a true laptop. I suspect battery
life will be short, and I wonder how well all the various features will be
supported under Linux. Have you considered buying a laptop with Linux
pre-installed? That way you can be pretty certain that all the advertised
features work, and if it doesn't you have some recourse. There's several
vendors out there.

I use a Toshiba, and it's been pretty good. But not all it's features (like
built-in wireless) are supported under Linux. But it's a dual-boot machine,
so I can live with that.
