Debian 3.1 is cool. It's definately an improvement over Knoppix (for
some obvious reasons), still having trouble with the XP dual-boot,
though. When we partitioned and installed Knoppix on this machine, it
refused to boot to Windon't. The option would come up in the boot
screen, but when we chose it, it would show an error message. Could
still get into dos, but that's all. We tried to reinstall the mbr,
thinking that we had wiped it out with Linux, but to no avail. Then we
couldn't get back into Knoppix, either. So, after formatting and
re-partitioning, we reinstalled XP and went to work downloading Debian
Sarge. That went nicely, but after the full install, now it will not
boot XP again. Once again, it shows the option in grub, but it won't
boot. I'm not real fond of M$ anymore, but XP is expensive! If I've
got a licensed copy, I should probably make an attempt to keep it as
useful as it inherently is capable of. Plus, we're still not quite to
the point of being able to print cd labels from Linux. That would be a
temporary solution there.
