The Toshiba pcx2000 2500 are decent.
I just swaped out my 2500 and they gave me a 2600 which I do not like
as much. How ever every time I go in their to make payments cause it's just
up the street.
There is about 5 to 10 people in there with the White Ericsons. Last week 4
people told me that
they are on at least their 4th or 5th one in a Years time.

My 2500 went almost 2 years. The only reason I swapped it out was cause
I kept loosing a signal they sugguested a swap. That was not the issue how
ever
I can not get the 2500 back unless they get one in on a Repair.

As for the Ole Grey Motorola Surfer it was Docsys.Yes they can not also
control them
as much. But as mentioned they do not want to continue to support a modem no
longer made
and that they no longer get repaired. So then the switches they have are
also getting to be useless.

They usually made an offer to turn them in and get 30 to 60 days free. I
kept arguing with them
I refused to change mine. How ever once a drink on my shelf fell over and
the drink got in the modem I
was SOL.

How ever working for AOL at Spectrum we did not hardly get that many calls
with Toshiba
Modems giving that much of a problem. Usually it was the Line it's self
unless they did not stand them up right and
air flow could not get around them they will fry.

Any ways I would take it in and Request a Toshiba. Also for the Router ones
they are also phasing them out.
They are claming that they are to expensive and they do not last. I have not
seen anyone take on in how ever
I think they are trying to cut their cost. Also they say if you want a
Router they will give you a Wired Router
and they are $100.00 for the same one you can pay under $30.00 for.

I currently work for them.. they are now at the point, were they are
decommisioning the servers that the legacy modems connect too. It is
actually getting to be the last possible minute.
