I'm running xp on a vm within debian on a machine with 512M. I have
272M allocated to the vm ("Maximum recommended for best performance").
Both OSs run smoothly (as smoothly as it can ever be said to run in
XP's case...) - running visual studio within xp really lags the vm
though, predictably, as it(vs) leaks memory like a sieve. But without
vs it really isn't too bad.
