Watch for the Genesys 811 USB2 controller in the
device. It is almost impossible to tell if it is
being used, but I have one in a 2.5" drive enclosure.
Issues with the chip cause the device to produce odd
connect/disconnects and SCSI errors.

Maybe try for a more well known name brand for the
drive or enclosure. Once you find some, check the web
for compatibility.
