I was doing more searching on fresmeat and I found this.
DenyHosts 0.9.0 by Phil Schwartz - Fri, Jul 22nd 2005 23:56 PDT

About: DenyHosts is a script intended to help Linux system administrators thwart ssh server
attacks. DenyHosts scans an ssh server log, updates /etc/hosts.deny after a configurable number of
failed attempts from a rogue host is determined, and alerts the administrator of any suspicious
logins.

Changes: This version added a --daemon flag that activates a daemon mode where the program stays
resident in the background and constantly monitor attacks to your SSH server. A daemon-control
Python script was added for managing the daemon.

I really like this place. I have found several, well a lot of, programs that I am going to use.
