[SLUG] Free ISP that works with Linux?

Does anyone know of a free ISP that works with Linux? My friend has his
grandmother on Ubuntu (and she loves it) and he was looking for an ISP
for her, just for email maybe once a week. She is on a fixed income so
she does not have much money in the first place and most dial up ISPs
start around $20 a month. I have checked in to some of the cheaper ones
but they require a software dialer, only supporting Windows.

I did have a Joi Internet account (they had big yellow billboards around
the bay area saying "Get Joi!") for a while that was $8 a month but
their went under back in May. If we can't find anything my friend said
he plans on paying for something, I just wanted to see what I could find
out there him.
