This reminds one of the And Launders great toilet paper debate.
For those of you who don't recall Ann Launders, a advice column writer, once,
about 1980, one started quite a commotion that lasted for several months by
printing a simple one line statement in one of her articles concerning
whether toilet paper should go on the role with the flappie side in or out.
No mention was made of the possibility of edge side in as placing role on a
nail; just two choices in or out, just as no mention here was made of posting
in the center of the message as in answering questions.
After months of debate in her column and this was literally months there
evolved that there were three types of people. Those that adamantly demanded
in and those who just as adamantly demanded out and those who simply could
not understand what difference it made in the finished process.
Ann Launders finally cut the debate with no result of final conclusion.
Talking of toilet paper one may recall the Johnny Carson [original Tonight
program} when he created a national toilet paper shortage by casually
mentioning that when he was at the grocery store that the store was out of
all things toilet paper and that he understood that it would be some time
before the had a re supply.
Just some thoughts on flushing this debate out.
