I wonder if Sony can be held accountable for damages since it was their
rootkit which allows the exploit. I would personally like to see them driven
to near bankruptcy just to set an example for the RIAA/MPAA/DRM/etc, that
they do not have the authority to muck about with any computer that they do
not own themselves. And they should be treated with the same respect that
they give to the victims that they target. Seize all their computers as
evidence, give them ample media coverage, maybe even a spot in the next
Superbowl. ;)
