Sorry, no. It's the operator. If you allow the defaults in Debian, it
installs in minutes. I recently did this on a machine, using Sarge and
the new installer. Piece of cake. That said, an installation of Debian
_normally_ takes me hours; I pick and choose packages to install for
hours. But as I said, if you take the defaults, it's quite speedy.
