No, I don't mean communicating _through_ a modem, I mean communicating _to_
a modem. I used to use "chat", to init the modem, and to grab the Caller ID
strings as they came in. What can I use under Ubuntu (no Gnome or KDE
here)? Or is there a "chat" .deb, or should I compile it from source?
