[SLUG] Scorched Earth 3D

So I heard about Scorched Earth 3D
(http://www.happypenguin.org/show?Scorched%203D) and went to check it out,
as I like the original. I installed 35(!) packages to satisfy dependencies
(thank goodness for Synaptic's log so I could remove them when it failed),
and I think there's a disagreement with wx 2.4, but maybe not wx 2.6, but I
can't find a -dev package for 2.6. Argh. Does anybody have (or know where
I can get) a statically-linked copy of SE3D? There's always the rpm copy,
but I might run into the same problem there, only worse -- installing
binaries for another distro can be hazardous, assuming I can find out how to
install it at all.
