Thanks. I just scrapped the Debian and am installing Slack on it. At least I
know Slack's ins and outs and can more quickly fix any problems I run
across. Now I remember why I never liked to use Debian LOL.

I had the same problem. Either upgrading to sid or installing
ndiswrapper-source from sid (bad idea) will fix the problem. Or wait
about 10 more days until ndiswrapper-source from sid is in etch.
