You should only need to give the name of the patch file on the command
line. Normally patches contain the name of the file they're patching at
the beginning of the file, so you don't have to provide it. In fact,
normally they contain the names of the original file and the patched
file on the author's machine, along with the path to each of the files.
The number of subdirectories on the paths determines whether you give it
a -p0, -p1, etc. on the command line.
