I am using CentOs for several servers. Compatibility? It would depend on
what service your talking about running. If you want to use GFS and the
Cluster suite all that works.. I am getting ready to set up 7 terabytes
using CentOs with GFS. I have already set up 1 terabyte on Centos with
EXT3 using Samba for sharing across network. I would say most general
services are good, meaning already compiled in a repo or media. They
also by default have yum and up2date setup with centos servers. What
service are you going to run on it?

CentOs is pretty solid. The Tao Linux distro (another rhel) shutdown and
is converting there packages over to CentOs along with some developers.
Good for CentOs. I have been following them for over a year now and they
have a good team. I would highly recommend trying them out.
