I thought you were viewing your mail in some proportionally-spaced font, and
that's why the ^ didn't seem to line up with the "." . It doesn't now,
since the "add a >" algorithm usually acts different on lines beginning with
a bunch of spaces, but it did the first time. If that's not the case, my
apologies.
