Just some more information. I was trying not to muddy the water so here
is some more facts.

My idea here is to take a copy of the joomla cms code base that I have
modified and use it as a single source for several websites. So one
copy of the code that I can change/update instead of 20 copies of the
code all different. I'm trying to prevent a maintenance nightmare.
