Folks,
I have a VB app that I want to run under wine. When I go to demos we have
this small VB program that we run, I have installed wine on my laptop, and
the program will bring up it's gui, I have three final steps in order
to bring it
into it's capture state. Select the comm port it is monitoring and select the
radio call it is going to monitor, and then hit the 'start' button on the app.

At that point I get the following:
       Run-time error '8005'
      Application-defined or object- defined error
I suspect that it has to do with the application wanting to talk to the serial
port and indeed I found a bit of info googling that indicted that I needed
to add the following to the system.reg file:
[HARDWARE\\DEVICEMAP\\SERIALCOMM] 1131331688
"COM1"="COM1"
"COM2"="COM2"
But that does not appear to help either.

"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going
out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
