Not AFAICT. And the maternal unit would use that other OS anyway.

She wants to get away from Chinese assembly, and I think the parts I've
chosen are mostly better than what would be found in the average laptop
anyway. That is, unless decent RAM, HD, etc are an option on a big-name
laptop. I don't recall being given that choice.

Having a decent end result is pretty important. Warrantees are nice, but
I'd rather not have to use them. Since the day-to-day user is !geekly,
that's quite important.
