RE: [SLUG] old RAM

You're looking at SDRAM (2 notches). DDR is a single notch. Look at the
chips on the RAM that you have. You should see a dash or space and a number
(e.g., -7 or 7). This is going to indicate the speed in nanoseconds. This
in turn will relate to PC100 or PC133 SDRAM. Typically, -8 and above will
be PC100. Below will be PC133. There are half values (e.g. -7.5 or just
7.5).

Obviously, you want to match speeds. However, if you cannot find matching
pairs, put the slower SDRAM in the first DIMM slot. This will be the slot
that the board will check for the RAM's SPD (small chip in the corner) on
the DIMM for timing and set the rest of the bank to the same speed.

Regarding the manufacture, can you find an FCC number? If so, try:
http://www.dodgenet.com/~tech-support/fccidlook-up.htm

Finally, who makes the BIOS? There are sites like
http://www.wimsbios.com/awardnumbers.jsp that might be able to
cross-reference the BIOS to the licensed manufacturer.
