[SLUG] Ideas for uses for Diskless computers

Hi folks.

I recently grabbed a pair of small form-factor computers from work that
we were about to throw out. They used to be part of an Oculan IDS system.

These systems are 1.75 by 10.5 by 8.75 inches (1/2 a U), have a VGA video
port, serial port, 2 USB ports, 3 network ports, and take a standard
computer power cord controlled by a really cool capped power switch.
Front power, HDD and network activity lights. Hard steel case painted
purple.

Inside they have 256 MB of PC133 laptop RAM (upgradable), power
transformer, empty IDE port, smaller port connected to a 256 MB Compact
Flash card, what might be an PCI daughter-board header, a whole bunch of
jumpers, "reset to default" switch, small case fan and a couple unlabled
headers, including ones for additional fans. Mother board is roughly
5.5 by 7.5 inches. Might be able to cram a laptop hard drive in the case.

Apparently an i686 compatable VIA C3 553A MHz processor.

BIOS indicates can boot from USB, console can be redirected to serial,
and has more settings than I normally see.

Boots "onix" linux with a 2.4.18-10 kernel from the flash card.

My question to the group is, does anyone have any good ideas for these
besides a firewall or IDS device?

I'm definately willing to give one of these to someone, or both if you've
got a really good idea.

Existing Compact Flash cards WILL NOT go with these units if I give them away.
