Another good idea, esp. since using a vidcam usually takes firewire
while a lot of still cams do fine with USB, even in movie mode.

I have an old Nikon Coolpix I once got to work as a webcam with a Linux
USB webcam driver. I don't think sound came through, and I didn't need
to do live webcamming (and still don't), so I dropped

don't remember the software I used, because I did this at least four
years ago...
