My eyesight is pretty bad too, and what I do is have several resolutions
defined ($NATIVE_RESOLUTION * $SMALL_INT1/$SMALL_INT2 should look decent
on an LCD -- my 1600x1200 screen does passably at 1200x900 and 800x600,
which are 3/4 and 1/2 respectively of the native resolution) and then switch
among them. Of course, on a CRT anything looks good -- on my CRT I had
resolutions down to 300x400, for when I _really_ wanted it big. No matter
what, you can't go very far beyond your monitor's H and V scan rate limits.
