[SLUG] Does Verizon's Fios "optimizesettings" apply to Linux?

Anyone know what verizon's "optimizesettings" does, and is this something that
is applicable to Linux (I suspect not)?

We got fios a couple of days ago (replacing their DSL service) and when the
installer "helped" setup of the internet he had me download & run a program
(on Windows) that is supposed to optimize the speed. He said, "It opens of
the computer for the higher speed with fios." I presume it is something that
tweaked some delays in the Windows. He didn't know about LInux.

Sometime ago my son, on Road Runner, found that the driver (I think) supplied
actually had some timings to slow down the speed. Maybe that is what Verizon
is doing with their "optimize settings"...

Regards,

Don
