Email is a bit of a pain in that sense.

This is where trimming the previous posts is supposed to be done. Of course
you could also press Ctrl End to go to the bottom. I for one prefer
that "hassle" over trying to figure out who said what while reading
backwards. Then again I try to reply to comments inline (like this one) so
it's easy to tell what I'm replying to.
