The AOB files are the ones with the data. The VOB files are tiny, probably
just the index. See above. "file" says:

eben@pc:~$ file /mnt/temp/AUDIO_TS/*.[AV]OB
/mnt/temp/AUDIO_TS/ATS_01_1.AOB: MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex
/mnt/temp/AUDIO_TS/ATS_01_2.AOB: MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex
/mnt/temp/AUDIO_TS/ATS_01_3.AOB: MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex
/mnt/temp/AUDIO_TS/AUDIO_SV.VOB: MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex
/mnt/temp/AUDIO_TS/AUDIO_TS.VOB: MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex

VOB movies are pretty similar to mpegs, and most movie players handle them
no problem. Apparently that's not so for audio-only files. What formats
can contain four channels? I can see whether ffmpeg will write them.
