[SLUG] USB drive died (maybe)

My USB drive -- a Venus case with a 350M PATA inside (can't read the drive
to get the model) won't read. Partition 6 and 7 fail with these errors:

eben@pc:~$ hdparm -i /dev/sde

/dev/sde:
  HDIO_GET_IDENTITY failed: Invalid argument

6 is either reiserfs or ext3. 7 is FAT32, and 8 is ext3. I hear no weird
noises. It worked a few hours ago. Do I have enough information to
determine which is bad (the case or the drive), or do I need more?

While I have a backup of my main drive, I don't have a backup of this. It
isn't worth the \$$BIG_BUCKS I spent a few years ago to have a drive
resurrected, so while it'll suck if the data's gone, I'll get on with
things.

Your pretended fear lest error might step in is like the man who
would keep all wine out of the country lest men should be drunk.
