For ease of use, as well as the option to select multiple protocols, I
typically use the tsclient (terminal server client) at work.

It's a nice little GUI with quick access to RDP (remoted desktop!) as well
as VNC protocols. (and...probably more; i just know that those two are
available as I use VNC on a daily basis.)
