Aaron,
 They have been running fiber in Pinellas County for a while. There was a
non-compete agreement with the cable company Knology since it was the former
GTE Americast. It is an amazing system. The optical signal is converted to
the three services inside the ONT. Each fiber that comes from the central
office has 32 different wavelengths of light to allow for 32 subscribers.

I was curious about the termination point for fios and the bandwidth
limitations on the components involved. Since they are running fiber to
your modem, that is actually unprecedented competency from the provider.
I look forward to when they start running it in St. Pete.
