I figured out when that hooking the phone to the computer _with the phone
on_ it does nothing bad, but nothing good either. Doesn't charge, from
either an unpowered or powered hub. (The unpowered hub supplies power, but
only 500mA - hub_usage total for all its ports.) The OEM charger uses the
same USB port but works. If the phone's _off_, it locks up so badly I have
to remove the battery to make it come back to life. Odd.
