after jumping thru 15 hoops to get the url to a different computer
it's going to
http://antivirus-fast-scan01.com/1/?sess=pWT50jjzMi0yJmlwPTIwOC4xMTguMzIuMTUmdGltZT0xMjUzMgAMPQBO

also, I VNC'ed in from my other laptop, changed the home page to google, closed browser, went back to other "session" running on the box directly, opened firefox, and it now goes to google as requested, and appare to stay there unless interacted with (something i did not have the energy to do)

>I can't tell you where it's redirecting to, cause it's pretty hard to interact with - its monitor is a TV and its keyboard is a remote keyboard/thumbmouse from hell combo.
>It is definitely starting off at the last saved home page, but then, without intervention from me, it's redirecting to some "virus scanning" site (bet my "C" drive is infected!)

>I'm currently trying to get into the desktop via VNC, which, if I stop failing, I will let you know what the site is. Of course I have no idea who to kill a malware infection on a linux machine, so clues would be helpful.
>
>Also, we can't seem to update the machine any longer - once we manage to stop it for looking for install CDs, it cannot find any repositories on the internet for Suse 10.2
