I had this same problem when I signed up... and it turned out to be using rich text or html formatting when composing your email (I use yahoo mail).

Make sure you are using plain text only. Do not use rich text, html, or any other type of formatted text.

Subject: [SLUG] To Joe Brandt

One of our members, Joe Brandt, wrote me recently to ask why he could
receive list postings but not send to the list. He's subscribed (I'll
not give his email address out, but it's a Verizon address), so there's
no reason he should not be able to post. For his and others'
edification, I'll explain possible reasons for this:

1. He's posting to the wrong email address.
2. He's posting *from* the wrong email address (it has to be the address
from which he's sub_scribed).
3. Whatever he's posting is making majordomo think he's giving it
commands. It's an unfortunate quirk of majordomo. Solution: change your
verbiage.

I sent him an email about this, and explained that he should check any
bounces on his messages, which would tell him what the actual problem
was.

Unfortunately, my email to him has failed after numerous attempts by my
ISP to deliver it. If my emails to him don't go through, that may be a
clue why his emails to the list don't go through.

In any case, since I can't get through to him directly, and since others
may have this problem, I decided to make this a public post. Joe, you'll
have to talk to Verizon on your end.

Paul
