You should be able to hide your computer, or tell them it isn't working
at the moment, and they should have no reason to use it. They should
have their own test equipment...

On a side note, I REFUSE to get verizon just because of the sheer number
of sales people that have come to my door. Every time, i see that
uniform I just say "no thanks" but they press on. Because of their high
pressure and interrupting door to door sales techniques I have decided
that I will NEVER switch to verizon.
Not to mention, that I have heard horror stories from anyone who tries
to cancel... But good luck with it I hope the service works for you.
