I know it's not what you asked for, but had I been in that situation I
would have raved about Linux in general, its stability, its
functionality, its security, etc for about 30 minutes, or until the guy
walked away whichever came first. This would be *because* this guy
could some day be my boss. If he discounted me immediately as some sort
of crackpot kook with a Linux virus of some sort, I'd have serious
second thoughts about working for him. If, however, he took me
seriously and saw my dedication, enthusiasm and deep understanding and
knowledge and saw that as a resource to be taken advantage of, I would
probably be excited about working for the guy.

Sounds to me like he's just a typical PHB and anything you can possibly
tell him, no matter the source, is just going to be discounted because
it's not what he read in the Microsoft Advert^H^H^H^H^HArticle in PCWeek
magazine last week. I know the economy sucks, but if that's the sort of
situtation you're in, I would run away now. Or at least start looking
for someplace that will respect your enthusiasm for this "crackpot thing
called Linux" and utilize it as a resource rather than try to squash it.
