Dude, ever coonsider using the .tar.gz packages? it's really much easier
than the hell you've been going through.

YOu know, I had a similar problem with some of the University Of South
FLorda's web pages because they were runnign an MS only ASP page. YOu
might want to cantoact the sys admin of the page about that because that
really IS a big problem.

*Raising hand* Actually the best way to go about that is simply to
download the 84Kb installetr that they have on their page. In the
installer yo'll have a se t of choices of what you want to insttall.
Click on "Custom" and "Next" and you'll come up to a screen with 5
components. Choose there. There's the browser, the mail agent, the
security agent, chatzilla (not a bad IRC client :), and the feedback
agent. check the Mail one and I believe the adress book comes with it.
Then procede to install. I think that will get it running. Note that to
get it running like that, for some reason, I found that any desktop
links that I create to it I have to do directly - ie. My binary is not
in /usr/local/bin, but rather I've had to leave it in /opt/mozilla,
where I installed all the stuff.
