better than a lot of commercial IDS packages. (Assuming that Blackice
is some sort of IDS and doesn't try to be a firewall.) It can be a
chore to configure, but it's incredibly flexible and works quite well.

For firewalls, Linux 2.2 ipchains or 2.4 iptables...
